Carbon Verification

Carbon Verification

Build trust and credibility

With transparency around ESG initiatives increasingly important, you need to be able to objectively and accurately measure and report on your carbon footprint.

Stakeholders are now looking for independent Verification of the accuracy of your emissions data and your calculated carbon footprint through ISO 14064-3.

What is Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Statement Verification?

Due to the increased demand for organisations to determine and establish their GHG Emissions data to prove their progress towards Net Zero, independent third-party GHG Verification provides credibility that your carbon footprint claims are accurate and compliant with major GHG reporting standards.

GHG Verification is the engagement of an independent third-party by an organisation to provide Verification of their GHG statements using standards such as ISO 14064-3.

Carbon footprint Verification involves, collecting data and reporting on your emissions from your company’s activities, and then independently verifying its accuracy to provide assurance to stakeholders that your claims are transparent and true.

How Can We Help?

Carbonology® verify the accuracy, completeness, reliability and impartiality of the information in your GHG Statement in compliance with ISO 14064-3.  This Verification process ensures credibility, transparency and trust.

After successful Verification, in addition to the Verification Statement, companies receive the Carbonology® ISO 14064 Verification Mark.  This mark demonstrates independent validation of your GHG emissions data, satisfying the demands of clients, regulators and investors.

Stakeholder assurance

Stakeholders are increasingly looking for independent verification of GHG Data to prove reduction are achieved year on year.

We offer two levels of assurance:

  • Limited – emission verified in detail, but less so than with reasonable assurance. Limited assurance is better suited for companies that are just starting on GHG calculations or do not have the support of an external consultancy.
  • Reasonable – Emissions verified to a high level of assurance to confirm all figures are correct. More detailed checks are performed on source data, with virtually all evidence checked.

In summary, limited assurance confirms that there are no errors, whereas reasonable assurance allows us to form a ‘positive opinion’ and state everything is correct.
